Some info about Playgroup -

Our Playgroup Supervisor is Annette Forbes

Playgroup runs from 9.30-11.30am every Wednesday and Friday during school term time. All children from birth to five years of age are welcome. Each week we follow this format (well, that’s the plan!)
  • 9.30am  Children arrive and free play inside or outside – as weather permits
  • 10.25am  Tables are cleared in preparation for morning tea. Toys at back half of hall are out away.
  • 10.30am Morning tea is served for the children at the large tables. Hot drinks are available for the adults
  • 10.45am  Free play
  • 10.55am All toys are tidied away – if you don’t know where anything goes just make out as though you do!    Outside is also tidied up at this time.
  • 11.00am Music time! All adults are encouraged to join in with your children for this fun time!
There is a session cost of $2 per child, or $3 per family. We receive Government funding to assist with the running cost, which enables us to keep fees to a minimum. This money is also used to pay for new equipment, resources and anything else we choose to make Playgroup a better place for our children.

All parents and caregivers are responsible for their own child/children at all times. Every effort is made to make the hall as child-safe as possible.

Playgroup Newsletter
Term 1-2013

Welcome Back! I have taken on the roll of playgroup coordinator so I’m doing Wednesdays and Fridays and totally looking forward to the awesome things planned for this year. If you have any concerns or ideas on how to make playgroup better then come and have a chat with me I’m happy to hear all your ideas. I might even take you out for a cupper. To all our Playgroup long-timers, I'm relying on you to show through example how playgroup works. To anyone new e.g. at pack up time … HELP. At morning tea clean up time … HELP. Putting the toys away time … HELP. At music time … JOIN IN. Thanks!
Just a recap Nikki’s farewell at the end of last term (some photo’s are up on the notice board), Our Christmas party was also awesome some photo’s are up on the notice board. Also be sure to like our Petone Salvation Army Playgroup facebook page.

SOME HOUSEKEEPING
HIGH CHAIRS – if using one at morning tea time, please clean it thanks
PARKING – Please DO NOT park in the back car park (this is for employees & volunteers) or on the footpath directly outside front doors. You are welcome to park on the front lawn.
DOORS – Please ensure you close the front door after you
MEETING POINT – our Meeting Point in an emergency is now on the front lawn/car park. Next term we will have an emergency week and do some fun things with the children to make them aware of what to do in an emergency
CLEANING – At the end of last term we lost our wonderful ladies that come in clean up after us. So this year it is playgroups responsibility to pitch in and tidy up after each session it would be helpful if everyone lends a hand. We will all need you to help when possible wiping tables, stacking chairs & sweeping after morning tea.
TOYS – Please encourage your children to respect the toys. The beam particularly is being used as a weapon. We'd rather it was used for balancing. Thanks

EASTER with the weeks gliding by as quick as ever Easter is early this year it’s at the end of March. There will be no playgroup on the Friday 29th March.

WHAT 'S HAPPENING H ERE FOR OUR COMMUNITY
